Crops Are In!

Today was the day to really let go of winter.  Here in Southern New England (away from The Cape) we dodged a big winter storm.  Although the winds were quiet strong and we did lose power, we only got a dusting of snow.  The wind combined with the cold air did make the temperature in the house drop pretty rapidly.  Without pellets for the pellet stove and no hook-up for the oil furnace to the generator, it was pointless to start up the old "gen", especially since it was still daylight.  Within a few hours the power company came through and everything was right as rain again.

So to show good faith in the return of the promise of spring-like weather, I have decide to sow our "crops".   In just a couple of weeks we should have some sprouts!!!

Spring has Sprung

Happy first day of Spring, 2014.

We had to create our own springtime here in New England this year.  Mother Nature and Old Man Winter have conspired to keep our weather cold and dreary.   Undetered, we brought in some forsythia branches and coaxed them to show us their sunny petals.
We are blessed.
